Glenn Larsen, PhD

Dr. Larsen has served as CSO and Executive Vice President Research & Development of SpringLeaf Therapeutics since April 2010. He joined SpringLeaf from Hydra Biosciences, where he served as Chief Scientific and Operating Officer, and led that company's small molecule research and development efforts, pursuing a novel drug target class. From 1999 through 2003 Dr. Larsen served as one of the five Therapeutic Area leaders at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, as Vice President Musculoskeletal Sciences. Responsibilities included directing research and development for Wyeth's second largest therapeutic area in the fields of arthritis, inflammation and tissue regeneration. Dr. Larsen also co-chaired the Musculoskeletal Franchise, where has was responsible for directing Wyeth's global commercial and development efforts for Enbrel, an anti-TNF agent for rheumatoid arthritis, and Infuse, an approved bone regenerating factor. Dr. Larsen began his career at Genetics Institute, where he served as Vice President, Preclinical Research and Development and also held a variety of leadership positions in drug discovery, program management and drug development. He and his group were responsible for non-clinical and regulatory activities required to transition discovery programs to clinical trials, resulting in the registration of four biopharmaceutical products and advancement of over 15 new pharmaceutical agents to clinical trials. Dr. Larsen received his PhD in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is a graduate of Harvard University's Business School Program for Management Development program. Dr. Larsen has authored more than thirty publications and is the inventor on twenty patents.
Rick Gyory, PhD

Dr. Gyory co-founded SpringLeaf Therapeutics in September 2007 and has served as Vice President Product Development since that time. He has over twenty years experience in the development of medical technology and convergent drug-device products. Prior to founding SpringLeaf, Dr. Gyory led a team of scientists in the development of a high-throughput experimentation platform for the discovery of transdermal drug delivery formulations at Transform Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2005) as Senior Director Convergence Products from 2001 to 2007. Prior to Transform he served as Vice President Medical Affairs at Redeon Corporation prior to that company's acquisition by Biovalve Corporation. Dr. Gyory started his career with ALZA Corporation where he was responsible for establishing ALZA's E-TRANS® iontophoretic transdermal technology. He holds a BS in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and received his PhD in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Gyory received a Gold I.D.E.A., Industrial Design Excellence Award, from the Industrial Design Society of America and is a named Inventor on more than sixty allowed US patents.
